What is the Southwest Companion Pass?

The Southwest Companion Pass is an amazing perk offered by Southwest Airlines, one of the largest and most popular airlines in the United States. Unlike traditional frequent flyer programs that reward individual travelers with miles or points, the Companion Pass allows the pass holder to choose one person to fly with them for free (excluding small taxes and fees) every time they purchase or redeem points for a flight.

This special sign up bonus Companion Pass is very similar but does have a few differences. The big one is this offer is only valid until March 23, 2025 and then it’s gone. You also only have until February 28th, 2026 to use the Companion Pass once you meet the sign-up requirements.

How to Earn the Southwest Companion Pass

Earning the Southwest Companion Pass is not as daunting as it may seem, but it does require a strategic approach. There are three primary methods to qualify for the pass:

  1. Fly 100 qualifying one-way flights: This option is time-consuming and generally not the most practical for the average traveler.
  1. Earn 125,000 qualifying points in a calendar year: This is the most common method and the one that offers the most value. Qualifying points can be earned through various means, including flying with Southwest, spending on Southwest co-branded credit cards, and utilizing partner services.
  2.  Open a Chase Southwest credit card that has the sign-up bonus! This is the easiest way to get a Southwest Companion Pass.

Unlocking Travel Freedom

Once you’ve earned the Southwest Companion Pass, a world of travel opportunities opens up. Whether it’s a weekend getaway, a family vacation, or a spontaneous trip away, having a companion fly with you for nearly free can save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on airfare.

We often get the question how do we travel so much? We travel smart, and we take advantage of amazing offers like this when we see them! We got this offer in 2023 and used it to fly to Hawaii, Disneyland, multiple Disney World trips (Orlando), New York, and to multiple other cruise port destinations. It saved us thousands of dollars since we were flying for the price of one.

Moreover, Southwest Airlines is known for its generous baggage policy, lack of change fees, and excellent customer service, making the travel experience even more enjoyable. With destinations spanning the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and beyond, the possibilities are virtually endless. Can you tell we’re excited for you?

Conclusion

The Southwest Companion Pass is not just another travel perk—it’s a game-changer for anyone looking to explore the world without breaking the bank. By strategically earning and utilizing this pass, travelers can unlock a level of freedom and flexibility that few rewards programs can match. So if you’re ready to embark on your next adventure with a trusted companion by your side, it’s time to start earning those qualifying points and make the Southwest Companion Pass your ticket to travel freedom. With this promo, it’s the easiest way to get a Southwest Companion Pass, so now is the BEST time to get one!

After 30+ cruises (14 with our toddler), this may After 30+ cruises (14 with our toddler), this may be Disney Cruise Line’s best itinerary 🤫

We’ve sailed to some incredible places over the years, but Alaska always completely exceeds our expectations.

From spotting whales right from the ship to exploring charming port towns surrounded by snow-capped mountains, every day felt like something out of a movie. The scenery is breathtaking, the wildlife is spectacular and the port adventures are so uniquely Alaskan and unlike anything you’ll experienced on any other cruise itinerary.

Seeing it all through our toddler’s eyes made it even more special to be back in one of our favorite places in the world. This trip gave us memories we’ll treasure forever.

Out of all the vacations we’ve taken as a family, this has easily been one of our favorite trips with our daughter yet! ❤️

Have you ever cruised to Alaska, or is it still on your bucket list?

The pure excitement when she spotted those Minnie The pure excitement when she spotted those Minnie Mouse bedsheets 🥹❤️

It’s the little things that make a Disney Cruise feel so magical, and seeing her face light up when she walked into the room made bedtime feel even more special on this cruise.

You never know which moments your kids will remember most… sometimes it’s not the big experiences, it’s something as simple as a towel animal waiting each night or eating room service in bed. For her this time, these special sheets were one of those magical moments!

This is her 14th cruise and the first time she’s ever gotten this. It was a special little surprise from our stateroom host, and not something we asked for ❤️And now of course she wants to get Minnie sheets for home too!

What’s the most unexpected thing your kids have loved on vacation?

We’ll be honest... a deck 1 oceanview stateroom on We’ll be honest... a deck 1 oceanview stateroom on the Disney Wonder would not have been our first choice 👀

When we booked a guaranteed room, Disney assigned this stateroom for us and we were a little disappointed at first.

But after sailing, we were perfectly happy here!

It still had the split bathroom and family-friendly layout we know and love. The quieter location and easy access to decks 3 & 4 (where we spend a lot of time) ended up being big wins for us. Being close to the gangway also made port days more convenient. 🚢

Would we specifically book this room again? Probably not. Would we be disappointed if Disney assigned it to us again? Not at all. 😊

Plus, any porthole with a view of Alaska is a great porthole, no matter how big it is! 🏔️

Have you ever booked a guaranteed stateroom? What room did you end up with?

Ready to set sail!!! 🚢🐭✨ Fly with us to Vancouver Ready to set sail!!! 🚢🐭✨

Fly with us to Vancouver to set sail on our @disneycruiseline vacation! We’re sailing on the Disney Wonder to Alaska and we’re taking you along with us ⚓️

We flew into Vancouver (our first time flying with @porterairlines which we loved!) and took a Lyft downtown to our hotel, which was just a few blocks from the cruise port. We stayed at the @deltavancouver and it was perfect for our pre-cruise stay - we especially loved the delicious welcome cookies 🍪!

We spent the afternoon exploring downtown Vancouver and the Canada Place port area, before enjoying dinner at @steamworksbrewpub in Gastown. Thanks to the three hour time change, after dinner we were ready to head back to the hotel and go to bed early 😴

ETA: Accidentally put Mountain Time instead of Pacific Time!! 🤦‍♀️

We couldn’t ask for a smoother travel day or a better start to our trip. Alaska here we come! 💫

Any guesses where we’re headed??

Our trip began with an easy flight to the beautiful city of Vancouver, a rainy day exploring and a delicious dinner near the waterfront. We all went to bed early because of the time difference, so we were rested and excited for the day/week ahead.

Taking our daughter to one of our favorite places in the world is a dream come true. Time for our next adventure to officially begin! 🏔️🫍🐻

Road trips with toddlers can feel intimidating... Road trips with toddlers can feel intimidating... but they don’t have to be! 🚗

We just took an 11-hour family road trip with CJ, and here are some of the tips that made our travel day easier! Some of them are practical, some are survival tactics, and one of them might be a little controversial 😅

The biggest thing we’ve learned? You just need a few good strategies, lots of snacks and realistic expectations. And an iPad with kid-size headphones 🤣

One thing that surprises people is that I usually sit in the back with CJ. Since she’s our only child, it makes it so much easier to hand her snacks, swap out toys, help with activities, and keep things moving without constant stops.

Which tip do you agree with most?

And if you’re a parent, what’s your #1 road trip hack? 👇

Save this for your next family road trip and send it to a parent who needs it!

“Why do you keep taking her? She’s too little to r “Why do you keep taking her? She’s too little to remember it anyway…” 🥺✨

But here’s the thing about traveling with little ones… you’re not taking the same baby twice.

✨ The baby who waved at the princesses on her first cruise is now the toddler running to hug them, wearing her favorite princess dresses.

✨ The little girl who napped through dinner is now dancing at the deck parties and staying up to watch the fireworks.

✨ The baby who didn’t like the sand now asks when we can go back to the beach on Castaway Cay again.

Every trip becomes part of who they are, even if they don’t remember every detail later. Each stage has been different, and every trip we’ve taken is a memory we’ll cherish forever - even if she won’t remember it.

Childhood changes fast, and each season doesn’t last forever - so yes, we’ll keep taking her ✨

This was the hotel we stayed at the night before o This was the hotel we stayed at the night before our Disney cruise from Fort Lauderdale, and we absolutely loved it! 🤩

Highlights for us were the beautiful room, the complimentary (and completely seamless) shuttle to the port, and the view of our cruise ship right from our room 🚢

There were actually TWO Disney ships in port, so it was really cool getting to see them docked together!

We had such a great stay at the @omnifortlauderdale and would definitely stay here again before another cruise.

One thing we didn’t fully appreciate until we beca One thing we didn’t fully appreciate until we became parents is how thoughtfully designed the Disney Cruise Line staterooms are for families with babies! 👶

Before having our daughter, we had already sailed with Disney many times (we’ve been on 30+ cruises)… but now we’ve done 13 cruises with her, and these are some of the little room features that have made family vacations easier!

Things like:
• privacy curtains for naps
• bathtubs in most rooms
• pack & plays, bedrails, diaper genies & bottle warmers/sterilizers available upon request
• even homemade baby food through room service 🥣
• a good amount of storage, including room for the suitcases under the bed (and the stroller if yours folds up small - which is the kind you want to bring!)

None of these things may seem huge on their own… but together they make a big difference when traveling with a baby or toddler! These are the kinds of details that help vacations feel less stressful and more magical ✨

Which feature would help YOUR family the most? 💭
