Flying with a baby? ✈️ Here are some of our to Flying with a baby? ✈️ Here are some of our top tips after dozens of flights with our little one! 👶

☑️ Children under 2 can travel as a lap child for free for domestic flights (for international, you’ll just need to pay the taxes)
☑️ Baby items like strollers and car seats can be checked for FREE. Be sure to check the policy for your airline ahead of time.
☑️ We recommend gate checking your stroller so you can use it in the airport. Gate checking your car seat also gives you the opportunity to ask about bringing it onboard (see next tip)
☑️ If the flight isn’t full, you can ask if there is space to bring your car seat onboard so your baby can have their own seat. No guarantees, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
☑️ Bring sanitizing wipes to clean your seat and area. Planes are full of germs, and babies touch everything (and then their mouths)
☑️ Fresh diaper right before boarding to minimize the chance of having to do diaper changes onboard the plane (the changing table is small and the bathrooms are gross)
☑️ PACK 👏 EXTRA 👏 CLOTHES 👏 At least 2 extra sets for the baby, and one for you too!
☑️ Nursing or feeding (or giving a pacifier) during takeoff and landing will help their ears adjust
☑️ If bringing liquids like formula or breastmilk through security, it can be larger than the usual allowable size

❕AND REMEMBER
if your baby cries, it’s OKAY! Babies cry and they have as much right to be on the plane as everybody else. Just do your best to calm them down and don’t worry about anyone else!

Spend the day at Universal Studios with us! 🌎 Spend the day at Universal Studios with us! 🌎

Come along on the first day of our Universal Orlando trip. It’s been a few years since we’ve been here, and we’re so excited to experience it again with a little one! 👶

🚌 Since we’re staying at an on-site hotel (Dockside) we took the complimentary shuttle to CityWalk. You go through security and walk through CityWalk to get to both Universal Studios park and Islands of Adventure park.

🎡 There are only a few rides that CJ can do, since a lot here have height requirements. Today we did Villain-Con Minion Blast and Kang and Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl! CJ also loved watching all the big roller coasters to by.

☁️ We spent most of our time in the DreamWorks area, which is so awesome for kids. We explored Shrek’s Swamp and played on Poppy’s Playground. We even got to learn some Kung Fu moves with Po! 🐼

🤩 We also met lots of characters - Scooby and Shaggy, Poppy the Troll and Shrek!

🎆 Finished off the night with the CineSational fireworks show. Great way to end our first day!

Have you been to Universal? Let us know what else you want to see from our trip! 💫

Our first time staying at Dockside Inn & Suites at Our first time staying at Dockside Inn & Suites at Universal Orlando! ✈️✨

This is an affordable and comfortable place to stay when you visit Universal, with free shuttles to all the parks! 🚌
We loved the laid-back vibes, beachy atmosphere, and affordable price at this hotel.

Our first night we stayed in a standard room, before moving into a 2-Bedroom Suite. Let us know if you want to see a tour of the suite too, it’s perfect for families! 🤩

We took our toddler to Epic Universe and had so mu We took our toddler to Epic Universe and had so much fun! Here were her top favorite things to do in this brand-new theme park✨

4. Yoshi’s Adventure in Super Nintendo World! 🍄
This one has a height requirement of 34”, but it’s slow-moving and great for little ones. We do wish it had been designed for all ages (no height requirement at all)! Honestly, this probably would’ve ranked higher if we could’ve all ridden in the same Yoshi. Each vehicle only fits two people, so she was a bit upset that Josh was in a different one 😅 But overall, it’s super cute!

3. The Untrainable Dragon Show in Isle of Berk 🐉
This show was incredible, the effects were amazing! She was totally in awe of the dragons 🤩 This show is a definite must-do for all ages!

2. Constellation Carousel in Celestial Park 🎠
Easily the best carousel we’ve ever been on! It moves in unique patterns (not just a simple circle) and goes to the beat of the music. There are some great seat options for little ones, including larger ones where all three of us could sit together. CJ loved this so much, we rode it three times! ✨

1. Viking Training Camp in Isle of Berk 💪
This interactive play area, themed after How to Train Your Dragon, was a HUGE hit with our little one! She LOVED this area and could’ve spent hours here. If you’re visiting with a toddler, make sure to plan for lots of time here - older kids will love it too! 🛝

While there are many attractions with a height requirement that she couldn’t ride (we used Child Swap for those), she still had an amazing day—and so did we!

Note: There were two attractions we skipped. We missed La Cirque Arcanus because CJ had to use the bathroom right before it started, and we had to leave the theater. And we didn’t ride Fyre Drill because she does NOT like getting sprayed, so that one’s on the list for when she’s older!

Will you be visiting Epic Universe with kids? 🎢🎠✨

Our CRAZY experience in the Wizarding World! 🪄⬇️

The last portal is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This area is themed after 1920s Paris (from Fantastic Beasts), and it’s so immersive and looks incredible! We spent some time in the afternoon soaking it in and enjoying a frozen butterbeer while CJ napped in the stroller 🇫🇷

This area has one ride and one show:
🎪 Le Cirque Arcanus
🪄 Battle at the Ministry

After how much we loved the other show we saw, we were excited for Le Cirque Arcanus! Unfortunately, CJ had to use the bathroom right before it started and they told us if we left, we wouldn’t be able to come back. So we’ll have to put this one on the list for next time!

Unlike the area which is themed after 1920s France, the ride is themed after the original Harry Potter series and takes place in 1990s UK. I was a bit confused with that timeline, but this ride is another must-do!

It uses a virtual queue system which can be glitchy, but Josh was lucky enough to snag us one. The ride was down then, but it reopened later and we were able to go in right before the park closed. This is where our experience was a little crazy!! ⬇️

We got in line 20 mins before the park closing time, so we were going to be one of the last to ride. Since we were doing child swap, we waited in line together and then Josh rode first while CJ and I went to the waiting area. We already figured I was going to be one of the last riders of the night...

During Josh’s ride, there was a big technical difficulty which meant they had to reset the whole thing and go again. With that extra delay, he was one of the VERY last riders which meant they were ready to shut down for the night. Me and one other dad (who was also in the family room waiting for his wife, who was on the same ride car as Josh) ended up being the VERY last ride of the night in our own car JUST the two of us 😅😅 What a crazy way to finish our day in Epic Universe!

Overall the ride was awesome, but the real star is the queue! The Ministry of Magic looks spectacular and it’s truly so immersive 🤩

We still have so much more to share from Epic Universe, so let us know what else you want to know! ⬇️

Let’s Explore: Celestial Park 🌠 Celestial Pa Let’s Explore: Celestial Park 🌠

Celestial Park is the heart of Epic Universe, the main hub area that connects you to the portals. This area has a celestial feel with a Mediterranean-inspired design and features two rides, along with plenty of dining, bars, shopping and spaces to relax, and the new Helios Grand Hotel overlooking it all! ✨

The two rides here are:
✨Stardust Racers
✨Celestial Carousel

Stardust Racers is a pair of dueling roller coasters that twist and dance in sync. We took turns riding while CJ was napping and somehow both ended up in the back row - and both said our butts were hardly on the seat 🙈 This is definitely the most thrilling ride in the park, so if you love coasters then this is a must do! 🎢

The other ride here is the most family friendly and was a huge hit for us. We rode 3 times! This carousel is unlike any you’ve ever been on. The celestial creatures move in unique ways (not just in a simple circle) and go to the beat of the music. We also loved that the celestial creatures have great options for parents and little ones to ride together! 🎠

In a way I think it’s funny that the two rides here are the most thrilling and the most family-friendly in the park! We loved this area and next time, we hope to spend more time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful fountains ⛲️

If you could only choose one, would you ride the roller coaster or the carousel? 🤔

As a lifelong macaroni and cheese lover, trying on As a lifelong macaroni and cheese lover, trying one of these viral cones was at the top of my must-do list at Epic Universe! 🤤

We tried two of the three cones they have, and both were delicious! I preferred the PB&J while Josh preferred the Dragon Spire, but both were amazing so you definitely can’t go wrong! 🧀

Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel
📍 Isle of Berk (How to Train Your Dragon portal)
PB&J (Pork Bacon and Jam) Mac & Cheese Cone - $15.99
Dragon Fire Chicken Spire Mac & Cheese Cone - $15.99
Goldfish Mac & Cheese Cone - $13.99

Which one would you choose? ⬇️

✨Our favorite portal was…. How to Train Your ✨Our favorite portal was….

How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk! We didn’t have many expectations for this land, since we haven’t seen the movie in years, but WOW - this area is just incredible. 🐉 We love the viking atmosphere and CJ loved seeing the dragons.

Our first stop was to pick up my top must-have snack - a PB&J (Pork, Bacon and Jam) mac and cheese cone from Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel. We were blown away by how good this was, all 3 of us loved it! It’s no wonder these cones are going viral.

Next we went to see The Untrainable Dragon show, and we were blown away once again. The effects in this show were truly incredible, we’ve never seen anything like it! This is one show you HAVE to see.

There are 3 rides in this portal:
✨Fyre Drill
✨Hiccup’s Wing Gliders
✨Dragon Racer’s Rally

We decided not to ride Fyre Drill, the only one without a height requirement, because we didn’t think CJ would enjoy getting wet. We took turns riding Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, which is a roller coaster and one of our favorites of the day. This was a really fun one! Josh also took a quick ride on Dragon Racer’s Rally too.

We also spent a lot of time in the Viking Training Camp play area. CJ absolutely loved it! This is such a fun space for little ones and a great addition to the park. We even came back again later just so she could play in here again!

Our cone earlier was so good that we went back for another one. This time we got the Dragon Fire Chicken Spire cone - I preferred the PB&J, while Josh preferred the Dragon Fire - but both were delicious!

Overall, we loved this entire area and it’s safe to say we’ll be re-watching How to Train Your Dragon very soon! 🐲

Next up: Dark Universe 🧟 Let’s talk about th Next up: Dark Universe 🧟

Let’s talk about this spooky portal! Neither of us are fans of horror at all or are even that familiar with the classic Universal monsters, so I don’t think we could fully appreciate this portal.

There are 2 rides here:
😱 Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment
😱 Curse of the Werewolf

We decided to take turns - I rode Monsters Unchained, while Josh rode Curse of the Werewolf. Monsters Unchained was pretty cool, with a similar ride vehicle to Forbidden Journey (the Harry Potter ride inside Hogwarts), and lots of cool effects and animatronics. It was creepy and thrilling, but not too scary! The Curse of the Werewolf is a small, short roller coaster that spins and reverses. 🐺

There are some unique characters out to meet (think Frankenstein’s Monster) and some places to eat and shop. We didn’t explore too much here though, because are main priorities were the other portals.

Although I don’t think we’re the ideal demographic for this portal and we spent the least amount of time here, it is well done and definitely a unique experience! 👻

Do you like horror movies? 🎥 Are you excited for this area?
