The Disney ships are absolutely stunning and offer so many beautiful spots to capture wedding portraits. Additionally, for cruises that include a stop at Castaway Cay you should also be sure to get some photos on the beautiful island as well! Here are our Top 10 Spots on Disney Cruise Line and Castaway Cay for wedding photos:
Disney Cruise Wedding Photos on the Ship
1. Funnels
Of course this iconic DCL location had to be the top of the list! The bright red, yellow and blue colors and the DCL logo on the smoke stacks make it a perfect spot for photos on your Disney cruise ship.
2. Lobby Atrium Staircase
The Lobby Atrium is the first thing you see when you board your ship for the first time, so it’s another one of the most iconic places on the ship. The beautiful blue and gold tones give a feeling of royalty that are perfect for wedding portraits!
3. Portholes
Wedding photos in front of a porthole really emphasize the nautical aspect of your cruise wedding! On the Disney Dream and Fantasy, there are portholes with seating right off the lobby which are perfect for this (on the Magic/Wonder, there are great portholes near the adult area). We also had the fun idea to blow bubbles in front of one of the outdoor portholes for our photos!
4. Throne + Fairy Tale Mosaic
Another iconic DCL spot is in front of one of the beautiful mosaics near guest services in the lobby atrium. The gorgeous throne really adds to the royal feeling of the mosaic!
5. Lifeboats on the Open-Air Deck
A simple spot can produce really beautiful photos when your photographer knows what she’s doing! The framing of these photos perfectly captures those yellow lifeboats, and I love how it looks like we are casually taking a stroll together around deck 4.
6. Deck 5 of the Lobby Atrium
This spot is a hidden gem for wedding photos. Those golden columns, the gorgeous chandelier and the detailed railings add a perfect glow to these photos that make them some of my absolute favorites! I’m so glad Mikkel had the idea to come here.
7. Cabanas Restaurant – Finding Nemo Mosaic
The Finding Nemo mosaic in Cabanas restaurant is another DCL wedding photo you see a lot, so you know it had to be included on the list! Try to avoid this spot during prime meal times, as the mosaic is very close to the salad bar and there can be a lot of people around it. I absolutely loved this photo spot, and just think the Finding Nemo characters are so cute!
8. Enchanted Garden Restaurant
Lastly, one of my favorite photos from our Disney cruise wedding were taken at Enchanted Garden. It was pretty much by chance that we ended up taking photos at the Enchanted Garden restaurant, and I am SO glad we did! I absolutely love the secret garden vibes of this restaurant (it’s themed after the gardens of Versailles) and the lighting was perfect!
Disney Cruise Wedding Photos on Castaway Cay
Many Disney Cruise Line weddings take place on Castaway Cay, so it’s perfect to be able to get some photos there! If you are getting married onboard, you can also arrange with your photographer to get photos taken on the island on Castaway Cay day.
9. Wedding Pointe
Wedding Pointe is one of the ceremony venue options on Castaway Cay, so if your ceremony is here then of course you will already have photos here! But if your ceremony is on the beach or on the ship, then you should definitely add Wedding Pointe to your list of island photo spots!
10. Boat Beach
Finally, our wedding coordinator told us this was the best spot for wedding photos on Castaway Cay. We think she was right! Therefore, this is a spot you will definitely want to add to your list!
