New FastPass Tiers at Hollywood Studios

We’ve had news from Walt Disney World twice in the last few weeks that big changes were happening in the Hollywood Studios tier system! Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway have both been added to the FastPass tier list. In this blog post we’ll share all the details about getting FastPasses for these two new rides, plus the new FastPass tiers at Hollywood Studios!

FastPass+ selections can be made in your My Disney Experience account.

Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run Fastpasses!

In late January, Disney unexpectedly added Smugglers Run, one of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attractions, to the FastPass list for Hollywood Studios. For guests planning visits on or after February 19, you can now choose Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run FastPasses as one of your Tier 1 selections. Smuggler’s Run is an exciting ride that allows guests to take control of the fastest ship in the Galaxy. Each crew member chooses a crucial role: Pilot, Engineer or Gunner. You’ll then work as a team with the other members of your crew (6 guests total) to complete your mission! This is one of the must-do experiences for guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

A few weeks later, Disney announced another exciting addition. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is now available as a FastPass selection for guests visiting Hollywood Studios on or after the ride’s opening day, March 4, 2020. This will be the first ride to star Mickey and Minnie, and will take guests on a zany adventure through a cartoon universe!

In addition to Smuggler’s Run and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway joining the list, they also announced that they also restructured the entire ride tier system for Hollywood Studios. With the new tiers, guests can choose between , Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and Slinky Dog Dash for their Tier 1 selection. Then, for Tier 2 guests choose from a long list of rides that now includes Toy Story Mania, Aerosmith’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and more!

Currently, the other new ride in Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will still not be using the FastPass+ system for the time being. Rise of the Resistance will continue to operate using the Boarding Group (virtual queue) system.
