The Walt Disney World Resort is home to 25+ amazing resorts, and each offers something unique for guests. With so many to choose from, it can be hard to narrow down your options! Disney is designed for guests of all ages, so families and adults would both be happy at any of their resorts. However, there are some resorts that are more adult-oriented than others. Having stayed at most of the on-site Disney resorts, we wanted to share which ones we think are best suited for adult guests! In this blog post, we will be listing our top 5 resorts that are perfect for an adult-only Disney trip:
1. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
First up is Disney’s Boardwalk Inn! This resort is a great choice for adults traveling to Disney World without kids. Epcot is known for being the most adult-oriented park (although it’s great for kids, too!), and the Boardwalk Inn is so close that you can easily walk. This makes it a fabulous choice for adults who want to enjoy the excellent dining options available at Epcot. It’s also perfect for those who are visiting during one of Epcot’s famous festivals, like the Food & Wine Festival, and want to be able to come and go easily.
From the Boardwalk Inn, you also have the option to walk to Hollywood Studios (or take the Friendship Boats). Hollywood Studios is home to a lot of Disney’s big thrill rides, like the Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller Coaster. This makes it another great park for adults to spend time at! Lastly, the Boardwalk Inn is, of course, known for being located on the Boardwalk. The fun and lively boardwalk atmosphere makes it a great location for adults. It’s very walkable and has some great dining and entertainment options, like Jellyrolls, the Atlantic Dance Hall and the ESPN Club. For guests wanting to spend plenty of time at Epcot and Hollywood Studios, or enjoy the Boardwalk, this is a great choice!
2. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
While having quite a different atmosphere from the Boardwalk Inn, the Grand Floridian is another great option for adults! The Victorian design gives the resort a classy, upscale atmosphere. While still being kid-friendly, the theme is more oriented towards adults. You will definitely feel high-class when you stay here!
In addition to the atmosphere, the Grand Floridian is a great choice for an adult-only trip because of it’s wonderful dining selection. The Grand Floridian is home to two elegant signature restaurants which are perfect for date nights – Citricos and Narcoosees. Additionally, Victoria and Albert’s is the most sophisticated and upscale restaurant in all of Walt Disney World. If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience, this is the place to be! Overall, the abundance of fine dining and elegance of the resort make it a fantastic option for an adult-only trip to Disney World.
3. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
For an adult-only trip with a romantic experience in mind, we’d definitely recommend Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! It’s the perfect choice for a honeymoon, romantic getaway or just a couples trip. The tropical atmosphere is romantic and makes you feel like you’re enjoying a relaxing vacation in Hawaii or another tropical paradise. This resort offers a peaceful place to relax and unwind after a day enjoying the parks.
Furthermore, the Polynesian is home to some superb dining and beverage venues. Check out our review of ‘Ohana (tip: make a late-night reservation for a quieter experience with a more relaxed atmosphere and less kids). Another awesome option for adults is Trader Sams’ Grog Grotto, a tropical tiki bar that captures the romance of the South Seas through unique food and drinks. If you want to combine a Hawaiian honeymoon vibe with a trip to Disney World, this is the perfect place to stay!
4. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
For reasons similar to the Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort offers a superior location for adult guests. Being so close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios gives you so much flexibility to come and go. We love having the option to walk or enjoy a leisurely boat ride to either park to enjoy the amazing dining and attractions. Plus, being right near the Boardwalk offers close proximity to the dining and entertainment options there as well.
Yacht Club’s sister resort, Beach Club, is very popular for families due to it’s incredible pool and water play area. In contrast, the Yacht Club offers a similar New England waterfront atmosphere but with a quieter and more mature vibe. In addition, the Yachtsman Steakhouse located at the resort is another signature restaurant that’s perfect for adults. Premium steaks and fresh seafood make it a great choice for an adults-only evening out. The location and atmosphere both make it another fabulous choice for adult guests!
5. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Disney’s Saratoga Springs is a DVC resort, which means the entire resort is made up of studios and villas. For guests wanting to feel ‘at-home’ on their vacation, these rooms are a great choice. They all include either a kitchen or kitchenette, and many also have a washer/dryer in the room as well. If you’re planning a relaxing stay and plan to spend a lot of time in your room, this can be a great option if you want to have the comforts of home! Additionally, Saratoga Springs Resort is home to Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. If you’re looking to enjoy some golfing while you’re at Disney World, this is the perfect place to stay!
Finally, our top reason this resort is great for an adult-only Disney trip is its proximity to Disney Springs. Saratoga Springs is located so close to Disney Springs that you can walk there! The resort is very large, so if you are wanting to walk to Disney Springs it’s highly recommended to book a preferred room and request the Congress Park area (these are the closest buildings to Disney Springs). This makes it so convenient to enjoy a night out on the town and take advantage of the amazing shopping, dining and entertainment at Disney Springs. For guests wanting to golf, enjoy the comforts of home and explore Disney Springs, this resort is a perfect choice!
