Walt Disney World

Halloween 2020 at Walt Disney World

Many people (including us) were disappointed and curious about Disney’s plans for the Fall when Disney announced they were cancelling this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Luckily, today Disney is sharing new information about how they will be celebrating the Fall season and Halloween! Fall and Halloween festivities will take place this year from September 15 to October 31. Decorations, new character cavalcades, costumes, fall-themed treats, merchandise and photo opportunities will all be part of the fun. We are especially excited because we’ll be visiting Walt Disney World at the end of September. We are so happy we’ll get to experience it all! Keep reading to learn all about Disney’s announcement and how they’ll be celebrating Halloween 2020 at Walt Disney World.

New Character Cavalcades and Experiences

A new special Halloween-themed cavalcade will entertain guests in Magic Kingdom. The new cavalcade will include Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and other Disney pals wearing their favorite Halloween costumes. Chip ‘n’ Dale will also be joining in the Halloween fun. Guests will be able to find these two chipmunks in costume over in Frontierland. Guests can also look for other Disney character friends riding the horse-drawn trolley down Main Street, U.S.A while dressed in their Halloween best!

Decorations

There’s nothing like decorations to get you into the holiday spirit! Pumpkin-themed wreaths will adorn lampposts up and down Main Street, U.S.A., putting guests in the fall spirit almost as soon as they step foot inside the park.

Costumes

For the first time EVER, guests of all ages can wear Halloween costumes during Magic Kingdom regular operating hours. In past years, guests over the age of 12 can only wear costumes during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Please note that adults cannot wear costume masks; only children younger than 14 years old can wear costume masks. Of course, all guests must still wear approved face coverings during their visit.

Check out our Aladdin and Jasmine costumes from last year! Of course, this year we’ll be adding masks to our costumes:

Treats

A visit to Walt Disney World is not complete without indulging in some delectable treats and beverages! This Fall will be no different, with popular fall treats like the famous Pumpkin-spiced Waffle Sundae coming once again to Magic Kingdom. You can check out Disney’s official Foodie Guide to Fall at Walt Disney World on the Disney Parks Blog here.

Merchandise

Special Halloween-themed merchandise will be available in select locations around the park. This year’s featured items will include a new spirit jersey, a Loungefly backpack and a candy-swirl Minnie Mouse headband. A selection of apparel inspired by Disney Villains will also be available!

Disney PhotoPass

Finally, Disney PhotoPass will provide new opportunities to help guests capture their special Fall memories! Photographers will be available throughout Magic Kingdom park for themed photo opps. But beware – happy haunts may materialize in the pictures!
