Disney Cruise Line Romance

Romance on Disney Cruise Line

For some, the thought of a Disney Cruise is accompanied by thoughts of noisy children and a childish atmosphere that might not seem like a place for romance. Having been on 12 Disney cruises, I am a huge fan of them and want to share some of the ways you can experience romance on a Disney ship!

Keeping the Kids Entertained

First of all, as you might be able to guess, the kids clubs on Disney Cruise Line are wonderful! Most kids are happy to be dropped off in the kids clubs and spend most of the day there. They’ll have a great time in the safe care of qualified counselors. Having a place to leave your kids that you know is safe and fun – and included in your cruise cost – lets you and your partner relax and enjoy some quality time together!

Since we don’t have kids, this one isn’t a factor for us but we know it’s a huge deal for people with kids. Keep reading to find out more of why we (as a couple without kids) LOVE Disney cruises:

Adult-Only Activities

Silent DJ Party on Disney Cruise Line

Next, Disney prides itself on having something for guests of all ages, and adults are no exception. Therefore, there are plenty of activities onboard that are exclusive to guests 18+, with everything from fitness classes to silent DJ parties to trivia events to mixology classes. In addition, most nights an adult-only show gives the adults a time to have fun together and be entertained! My favourite show onboard is a live game show called “Match Your Mate”. They bring real couples from the audience onstage to compete to earn prizes in a hysterical version of the “Newlywed Game”. Up for a challenge? Volunteer to play and see how well you know your spouse!

Adult-Exclusive Spaces

Finally, there are several spaces onboard that are just for guests 18+. Some of the most popular are the Quiet Cove Pool, Senses Spa & Salon and the adult-exclusive restaurants, Palo and Remy. Click here to read more about other adult-exclusive areas onboard!

Quiet Cove Pool

The Quiet Cove pool is the nicest pool area onboard the ships. It’s a great place for couples to relax by the pool with a nice cocktail, or enjoy a relaxing time in the hot tub!

Senses Spa

Jacuzzi

Similarly, at Senses you can work out at the gym with a gorgeous ocean view, lounge in the sauna or get a couples massage. Senses is the perfect place to indulge yourselves and truly relax on your vacation! I’d also recommend purchasing a pass to the Rainforest Room. This is the perfect place for couples to enjoy saunas and rainforest showers together (the complimentary saunas are located separately in the change rooms). The Rainforest Room on the Dream and Fantasy also feature jacuzzis with an ocean view (pictured above).

Adult-Exclusive Restaurants

Each Disney ship has at least one restaurant offering exquisite cuisine in an adult-only setting.  Check what’s available on your ship and take the time for a romantic meal! For instance, we’ve celebrated several of our anniversaries at Palo – the food and atmosphere are amazing! If you want to add a touch of romance to your cruise experience, we’d highly recommend setting aside an evening to dine together at one of these fantastic restaurants.

Tip: For the best view, make your Palo reservation at sunset!
